My sister, Nicole, used to call me after every doctor’s appointment and ask me the same question, “When did the doctor say the baby will be born?” I always laughed because it’s basically impossible to predict exactly when a baby will be born unless it’s a planned c-section. She was just so excited and didn’t want to miss the birth.
The night I went into labor, I texted Nicole and said she should try to come sooner. It was 4 days before my due date and she wasn’t able to leave any sooner than she had planned. My Mom kept her updated, but my labor was progressing quickly and the nurses projected I would have the baby before Nicole got to the hospital. However, my labor stalled and Nicole made it to the hospital. She was there by my side as I pushed and got to be one of the first people to see Gideon after he was born.
Since that moment, Nicole has gone above and beyond to be there for me and Gideon. She loves Gideon like her own and pours into his life. She supports me and has made sacrifices for me. She encourages me to pursue my dreams and inspires me with her creativity. Nicole is a remarkable woman and I am so blessed to have her as a sister and as Gideon’s aunt.
Today is Nicole’s birthday so I wanted to do something special for her to tell her just how much she means to me. I love you, Nicole! I hope you have a wonderful birthday. Thank you for being such a remarkable role model, sister, aunt, and friend.
Love,
Redeemed Mama
